To celebrate today's feast of Christ the King, our family will be having chicken a la king for dinner. This is one of those recipes which are just perfect for a Fall evening.

1 cup chopped cooked turkey
salt and pepper to taste
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup chopped cooked turkey

Directions:
In a large skillet over medium low heat, cook butter until golden brown. Saute mushrooms until tender. Stir in flour until smooth. Slowly whisk in chicken broth, and cook until slightly thickened. Serve with fresh buttermilk bicuits over rice or egg noodles.

YUM!
ReplyDeleteI fixed this for my family last night. Used ckn instead of turkey, and mixed in whole wheat egg noodles. It was rich, very tasty. This just may become a family tradition on Christ the King Sunday now. Thanks and BLESSINGS!
